First Jobs/First Wages Committee

The First Jobs/First Wages Committee is tasked with developing strategies that expand basic workplace skills and the experience of young people and first-time working adults throughout Northeast Florida. The Committee will formulate a youth workforce plan, providing a blueprint for agencies and communities to fit together the vast array of programs and resources to leverage dollars from state and federal programs.

The First Jobs/First Wages Committee promotes successful entry into the workforce through education and workplace experience that leads to self-sufficiency and career advancement. The components of the strategy include efforts that enlist business, education and community support for students to achieve long-term career goals, ensuring that young people and adults entering the workplace for the first time have the academic and occupational skills required to succeed in the workplace.

Better Jobs/Better Wages Committee

The Better Jobs/Better Wages Committee defines the overarching goal and objectives for Welfare Transition Program clients, Welfare-to-Work Program clients, and underemployed adult workers. The Committee identifies specific issues for the targeted groups and develops policies/guidance to help these workers gain economic self-sufficiency.

High Skills/High Wages Committee

The High Skills/High Wages Committee serves as a catalyst between industry, economic development organizations and training providers to identify skills needed to fill critical jobs necessary for business retention, expansion and recruitment activities.
