The summer program, entitled ‘Generation Works’, will employ a combination of academic enhancement; pre-employment maturity education, occupational training including integration of academic and occupational learning through problem-solving; personal development; college and career exploration; job coaching and mentoring services; and incentive-paid work experiences.

This program is designed for youth with special needs
Orange Park High School ‘Beautification Work’ program, will hire special education students. Students will learn landscaping skills, the direct focus of this effort is to provide these children with work, social and ethical skills.

Clay County School Board (serving ages 14-24)
This program focuses on strong connections between academic and Career Academy learning strategies. Activities will promote youth development, citizenship and leadership development through voluntary community service opportunities; as well as adult mentoring through paid internships. The main project areas of focus are: Construction, Summer Business Academy, and Culinary Arts.

This summer program ‘Building Community Camp’ will expose young men and women to the construction trade.

Florida State College – Articulated Nursing Assisting (serving ages 18-24)
This summer program will prepare young adults for employment as Nursing Assistants. Course content will include classroom activities, simulated nursing skill laboratory experiences and hands-on experience in a designated clinical agency.

This summer program will be to prepare young adults for employment as Dietary Aides who will provide services under the supervision of dietary personnel in nursing home and healthcare setting.

This program is designed for youth with special needs
Goodwill will offer program services that will enhance the employment experience, and explore career goals for special needs youth.

Student Conservation Association (serving ages 14-24)
The Student Conservation Association will engage youth in SCA’s ‘Community Conservation Crew’ program, a summer employment program focused on conservation service and Green Jobs Readiness training. In the six week program, youth will contribute 5,000 hours of service to the parks and green spaces of Duval and St. Johns County. Environmental Education will be emphasized throughout the program, including field trips to area sites to explore conservation careers and develop awareness of the local ecology and environmental issues.

This summer program will include activities that are designed to enhance communication skills, build trust , and improve problem solving skills while creating and cultivating. Courses will be in Automotive, Building Construction, Medical skills, Culinary and Child Care.
