River Region Human Services provides treatment for HIV-AIDS, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse. River Region has been improving the quality of life in Northeast Florida since 1972. In partnership with government, businesses, and organizations throughout the community, River Region helps people to develop and maintain healthy lifestyles.
Mission Statement
The mission of River Region Human Services is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families of Northeast Florida affected by substance abuse, mental illness, homelessness, HIV/AIDS and other communicable illness through outreach, prevention, intervention, treatment and housing services.
About River Region Human Services
In 1972, twenty-one different federally funded substance abuse treatment programs in the region were consolidated into the agency. River Region now provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment, intervention, and prevention services to people living in Duval, Clay, Nassau, St. Johns, and Baker Counties, as well as mental health and HIV/AIDS services. Many of River Region’s programs have been internationally accredited by The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF) since 1993. The management and direction of River Region is established by a community volunteer Board of Directors that meets bi-monthly. River Region has an active quality improvement system, and continually evaluates and enhances programs to improve outcomes.
