WorkSource has developed Learn, Return & Earn, a program that provides information and easy access to training scholarships for unemployed individuals across Northeast Florida.
The Learn, Return & Earn events are designed to help individuals who have been laid off during the current recession access information and apply for (WIA) training scholarships. Those who qualify include:
Those who have been laid off from their jobs or have received notice that their jobs will be ending or be eliminated
Self-employed persons (including ranchers and fishermen) whose income has been severely impacted by the economy
Those who qualify based on income (including laid off workers who have taken short term or part-time work after losing their jobs). The income guidelines are basically WIA guidelines.
Those who were providing unpaid services to family members in the home, and were dependent on income received from a family member but no longer supported by that income (a homemaker, for instance, or stay at home parent)
Pre-registration is encouraged. Please email with you name, telephone number, zip code and the orientation time you would like to attend (orientations will be held every hour from 8am – 8pm.)
